Father's Day Cakes to India

Preparation Time : 1 Hour
Baking Time : 25 to 30 mins
Chilling Time : 4 hours or overnight
Makes : 10 slices

For Cake

All Purpose Flour (Maida) - 1 cup (120 gms)
Cocoa Powder - 1/2 cup (55 gms)
Powdered Sugar - 1 cup
Unslated Butter - 150 gms Soft
Eggs - 3
Vanilla Essence - 1 tsp
Baking Powder - 1 tsp
Salt - 1/4 tsp
Cocoa Powder - 1/2 cup / 55 grams

For Frosting

Heavy Whipping Cream (Double Cream) - 1 pint
Sugar - as needed
Vanilla Essence - 1 tsp
Cherries - 1 can
Chocolate Bar - 1 (grated/shaved)
Chocolate Rice - as needed

For syrup

Water/ Syrup from cherry can - 1 cup
Sugar - 1/2 cup
Vanilla Essence - 1 tsp

Method:

For the Cake

1. Preheat the oven to 350 degree F (180 C)
2. First Sieve together the Maida and cocoa powder into a bowl and melt the butter in the microwave.
3. Beat the eggs until it becomes very creamy and fluffy.
4. Whip together all the wet ingredients (melted butter, sugar, vanilla essence) along with the beaten eggs till it becomes fluffy.
5. Mix the dry ingredients (flour + cocoa) with the wet ingredients.
6. Mix everything with a wooden spoon until the batter becomes smooth.
7. Prepare the cake pan by applying butter on the bottom and sides and dusting some flour on the tin and remove the excess.
8. Pour the cake batter into the pan and bake it in a oven preheated to 350 degree F (180 C) for about 40-45 minutes.
9. Check the cake by inserting a knife in it,if the knife comes out clean then the cake is ready.
10. Remove the cake from the oven and let the cake cool for 15 min.
11. Now invert the cake from tine and set aside to cool down before applying the syrup and frosting.

For the Syrup

1. Now Drian the cherry syrup/plain water into a small sauce pan.
2. Remove the seeds from the cherries and break them into small pieces.
3. Add the sugar to it.
4. Boil the solution for some time.
5. Add the vanilla essence to the syrup.

For the Frosting

1. Whip the whipping cream with enough sugar and vanilla essence until peak stage is formed.(ie)if you take the beater out,it forms a peak without folding over.
2. Cut the top of the cake make it flat before you apply the frosting.
3. Cut the cake laterally into 3 equal circles. (so that you can apply frosting in each layer).
4. Pierce all the three peices with a fork at random places so that thge syrup can penetrate into the cake.
5. Apply some syrup on each cake piece and allow the cake to absorb it. (It makes the cake moist and delicious).
6. Take a cake stand or a plate and place one piece of cake.
7. Apply frosting and top it with chopped cherries, choclate shavings and chocolate rice.
8. Place the second and then thrid piece of cake on top of each other and apply the frosting and toppings.
9. Apply the remaining frosting on top of the cake and on all the sides.
10. Decorate the cake with cherries,chocolate sprinkles or chocolate shards.
11. Top the cake with cherries.
12. Chill the cake for 3 to 4 hours or over night in the refrigerator. Slice and Enjoy.
